Kraftfahrzeug 15 - Kfz15
A number of different commercial vehicle chassis were modified for military service as the Kfz15. During 1938 to 1940 the Mercedes-Benz 340 was the selected chassis for conversion, although its 3.5-litre engine and long wheelbase did not suit cross-country mobility. The open toped body of the vehicle was made out of sheet metal with a folding canvas hood to provide protection from the elements.
