Cannons
Like the Howitzer category this section is populated by weapons that match a particular method of attack, cannons fire a projectile in a straight line when compared to the high arching trajectories of howitzers and mortars. Also these weapons predominantly rely on kinetic energy to punch through amour rather than the explosive power of the warhead. Into this group fall the anti-tank guns and anti-aircraft guns of the Second World War.
