Bayonets
A bayonet is essentially a weapon of last resort, employed in situations where the standoff potential of the rifle has been eliminated. All soldiers know that when the order to “Fix bayonets!” is given, the nasty bloody work of close combat is soon to follow.
There are three main types of Bayonets in relation to the implement’s method of causing harm, but all bayonets include a mechanism for attaching the bayonet to the weapon. Attaching or detaching a bayonet is a move action. Attacks performed with a bayonet attached to the weapon it is issued with are considered attacks with an improvised weapon and suffer -4 to attack rolls. All fixed bayonets deal Piercing damage only.
