Starfall

Starfall is a mostly small island with little in the way of topography, becoming a wasteland after the accident. However, now there are giant spires of earth and metal that thrust out of the ground after the accident.

There is very little in the way of an ecosystem since the accident. Any plant or animal that survived the accident has adapted to the toxicity and are now highly toxic themselves, being deadly to eat or be bitten by.

The entirety of Starfall is deadly to any living thing not from the island. When the research base exploded, even the ground itself became toxic, radiating a deadly aura that slowly kills any living thing. The few living things seemed to have become a new kind of monster where they radiate toxicity and deliver with a bite or blood.

There is very little flora and fauna left on Starfall, with the few left being a new type of monster, transformed not by magic, but by the toxicity spread by the lab accident. These new monsters are incredibly deadly to even be around, giving off as much toxicity as the island itself. It's even worse when the blood, saliva, or sap gets on a living thing, burning through flesh and twisting bone.

Long ago, Starfall was the site of an elven research lab back during the time of the Elven Expanse, before humans even left the Old Kingdom. The lab was set up to research Startech, devices that fell from the sky that run on a mysterious power source disconnected from arcane energy. However, one day an accident happened as the elves attempted to recreate Star Energy, as its fuel is called, where the lab exploded, creating a toxic fallout across the entire island and warping the flora and fauna.
