Forest of Denvar (Fohr-Ist Uhv Dehn-Vahr)
Geography
The Forest of Denvar is a sprawling forest, covering the entire eastern coast between the Blazing Ridge and the Gravelly Alps. The Forest of Denvar has five unique micro-areas: The Fae Forest, The Dark Wood, The Lost Jungle, The Mighty Timber, And the Sky Bush. Between most of these sub-zones, there is a normal woodland, with standard woodland animals and trees.
The Forest of Denvar covers the eastern side of the mid-range, going along the coast of Billowing Bay and western to the Ivory Fields.
Ecosystem
The Forest of Denvar has a wide ecosystem and a variety of organisms, especially in the sub-zones. Standardly in the Forest of Denvar, there is a wide range of woodland creatures- Deer, wolves, squirrels, porcupines, etc.
However, each subzone also has its own unique take on woodland life:
- The Fae Forest is known for its magical creatures, ranging from unicorns to fairies. They are standardly friendly creatures, but if a creature from the Fae Forest and a creature from the Dark Wood have a child, it is a dark fey creature.
- The Dark Wood commonly has night-dwelling or nocturnal animals- Owls, Vampires, Skeletons, Bays, etc. These are most commonly evil or neutral creatures, but there is some variation at times.
- The Lost Jungle is home to several abandoned temples, and the wildlife reflects that same wildness- Tigers, crocodiles, monkeys, and it is rumored that there is tribespeople deep in the jungle.
- The Mighty Timber is home to some more northern animals, such as wolves, bears, foxes, and deer. The large pine trees of the Mighty Timber make it especially appealing to squirrels and chipmunks as well.
- The Sky Bush is known for its tall trees, reaching towards the sky to give it the name "Sky Bush." It is home to a large assortment of avians and primates, with one of Beland's most unique ecosystems.
Ecosystem Cycles
The Forests of Denvar are affected normally by seasons, with the weather changing accordingly. Interestingly, the Fae Forest and the Lost Jungle are not affected by seasons.
Most animals hibernate, with a select few migrating, namely avians.
Localized Phenomena
The Forests of Denvar are prone to tsunamis and flooding, especially from Billowing Bay & Coral Creek. Billowing Bay gets its name from the strong winds over the sea, which especially helps with flooding and tsunamis. Coral Creek, on the other hand, runs across the western edge of the Forest of Denvar and gets flooded easily with enough rain, and a lack of flood guards
Climate
The forests of denvar are usually at a cool temperature, due to the shade of the trees (especially in the dark wood.)
The temperature ranges from the eighties in the summer, down to single digits in the winter. In the Mighty Timber, temperatures are usually ten to twenty degrees less than the rest of the forest.
Fauna & Flora
The flora & fauna of the Forests of Denvar varies greatly, especially in the sub-zones of the forest. To summarize:
- Main Forest- Standard woodland animals, such as deer, wolves, squirrels, bears, and badgers. There is also normal plant life, except for Trapweeds.
- Fae Forest- more magical creatures, especially good ones, such as unicorns, griffins, fairies and fae, satyrs, and gnomes. The plant life is also enchanted, with giant flowers and mushrooms, sentient plants, and enchantbloom.
- Dark Wood- the creatures of the dark wood are either nocturnal, or darkness-loving- vampires, owls, bats, skeletons, and trolls to name a few. The plant life also seems to have adapted to the darkness, with creepvines being the prominent plant life.
- Lost Jungle- wildlife of the Lost Jungle is extremely diverse, but it typically involves tropical or tree-based animals, such as primates, large cats, and insects. The plant life is also very diverse with tropical trees, vines, and even treants. (Editors Note: Are treants a plant or animal??)
- Mighty Timber- the animals of the Mighty Timber are mainly animals adapted to cool temperatures, such as foxes, wolves, deer, and bears. The plant life is mainly moss and large, coniferous trees.
- Sky Bush- The sky bush has one of the most diverse ecosystems, with the main animals being avian animals and primates, and the plant life especially involves the Towerwood.
Natural Resources
The forests of Denvar are, unsurprisingly, a large source of wood and fruit. These natural resources help the country of Edor, which main exports are wood and food. The forests of Denvar are also a great source of meat, due to the abundance of animals in its woods.

The calming scenery of the forest combined with the mostly peaceful wildlife makes for a great camping and vacation spot.
