Immortality

An "Immortal" is an individual with an extremely rare genetic mutation seen in MindTech modified individuals.
In the entirety of the world, there are likely only a couple hundred immortals total.

The condition is defined as uncontrolled, nonstop accelerated healing, regardless of whether it is being consciously activated or not. This results in constant stress on the body, and requires a large caloric intake to manage.

Immortals are categorized on a spectrum, with one end for "Lesser Immortals" who heal rapidly, but can otherwise live a somewhat normal life with larger than average meals, to full fledged Immortals who are effectively invulnerable to any form of permanent damage until their body drains itself of energy to continue healing. With adequate nourishment, an Immortal seemingly does not age, and can live to absurd ages.

Many travel to join The Immortal Court, or become blades for hire to make a living off their condition.
