Simon has the ability to control and manipulate the earth, including materials like rock, soil, and sand. He can reshape terrain by lifting or collapsing the ground, creating barriers, pits, or obstacles to control a battlefield. His abilities allow him to trigger seismic activity, such as localized tremors or more widespread earthquakes and fissures.
He can weaponize earth materials, forming projectiles like sharp stone shards or compacted boulders to use against opponents. Simon can also use his powers defensively, crafting durable armor out of rock or hardened soil to protect himself in combat. His control extends to altering the properties of the ground, like turning solid earth into quicksand or hardening loose soil into impenetrable barriers. Additionally, his power gives him a heightened awareness of vibrations through the ground, enabling him to detect movement or incoming threats with great precision.

Personal history
Simon was one of the first superhuman criminals tried by an at-the-time up-and-coming young prosecutor by the name of Jonathan Sinclair. Having fallen in with a bad crowd and been involved in a fight which resulted in the injury of a police officer, Simon was an easy target for the public to rally against, and mounting fears over the increasing emergence of superhuman powers in the population his fate was nearly sealed from the off. With pressures mounting above him and from the public, Sinclair elected to make an example of the young man, only seventeen at the time. Tried as an adult and seeking the maximum term allowable for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the young superhuman was sentenced to fifteen years in Ironheath Penitentiary, a sentence that made him bitter and allowed him to cultivate a hatred for the lawyer that remained until his release.
Freed from his confinement, Simon wasted no time in tracking down Sinclair and used his powers to bury the entire courthousehe'd been working with beneath the Bathala City earth, allowing him to seek out the man within for revenge. His plans were foiled however by the intervention of Rue, Suplex and Agent Abel, who managed to incapacitate him and allow the Vigil to raise the building back to ground level, leaving Simon to return to Ironheath for another term.
