JHorn's Summer Camp Prep
Well, I'm finally brushed up on all my prep work, just in time for my first Summer Camp that's right around the corner!
To quickly summarize my answers to each week's assignment:
- Assignment 1 is definitely the most 'finished' in terms of prose and identifiable world concepts to develop. I found the theme of change very compelling, because it made me go back over the history that I'd written for Bastollo and take note of similar events in human history that would be useful to research, such as the Reformation and various 18th-Century wars.
- Assignment 2 probably leaves the most to be desired, but I'm looking forward to making some connections with the community throughout July! This is my first time really reaching out to engage with other worldbuilders after a long time spent lurking on the platform, so I'm looking forward to interacting with some cool new people!
- As a visual artist, Assignment 3 is definitely one that challenged me personally, because I'm trying to use more of my own artwork drawings to convey my story instead of words.
- Finally, Assignment 4 went quite smoothly for me, as it coincided with some late spring cleaning which left me feeling gladly refreshed at the end of a long rollercoaster month.
I came into this challenge about a week late, and fatigue from my day job definitely made it difficult to keep up. However, a recent rewatch of the video on agile worldbuilding (and the impending deadline) made me get it done, even if it only resulted in a simple sentence strung together by a few notes.
I'm so excited to see what July has in store!
All the best,
JHorn
