Ganda, the World Tree

History   Ganda, the World Tree is a fountain of natural power in the world of Bastion. Located in The Plains of Golarus. The beastial races of the Plains revere the tree as a holy place. The different tribes each have a shaman that taps into the power of the tree.   It is said that Ganda was planted by the gods when the world was young.   The tree was a sapling that sprouted over the leylines of the land, and was able to absorb the power that lays within the lines. During the Twilight Wars, the war of the gods, the tree was damaged by a legion of demons. The angel Kaieir came down and held off the demons until help was able to arrive. Kaieir was wounded during this fight, after the battle he fused his celestial essence with the tree causing it to heal and grow larger with the added power of the angel.   This was the beginning of the beastial races revering the trees power, coming together to tend the tree.   Present Day   In the present age many druids take up a pilgrimage to see Ganda and learn from the shaman there. The three main shaman that reside at the tree are Irlion of the Loxodon, Parda of the Leonin, and Urux of the Minotaur. These shaman help to guide the councils of The Plains.   At the base of Ganda, there is a cave that goes underneath and up into the tree. This is where the shaman live and teach those that come to them.   The shaman are able to communicate with the tree, using a ritual they can ask the tree questions about things happening around the world.
