Session 26: The Sea of Scions: Lost Islands and Parley
General Summary
It is the 14th of Fall Feather, and Ilknar dreams of his Father's past, of his sister's fall, and of the vengeance of the sahuagin, the shark people, and their thirst for the end of his line and people.
Within the storm this morning, he also sees evidence that these shark-people follow him. The wind whistles, and within it, they hide the conch shell's call, the notes that hint to their known tactics of follow, annoy, and wait. The time to strike will reveal itself.
Skiff also sees these yellowy eyes, and he is able to hit one in the far distance. This only makes these sharks dive deeper, away from the threat of the sharpshooter.
The rest of the day, they discuss a few options of how to handle this following threat. Depth charges are suggested, traps, as well as spiked nets and pressure plates loaded with poisonous darts.
Aikhon spends time with the other dragonborn, seeking to know of the Dovah's fame. His sister has become a beacon for hope for their people. He also investigates his brother's map for its odd change, to no avail.
Ilknar spends more time with Nethpione to learn her native, infernal tongue, but it turns awkward when her feelings for the giantkin start to show.
Roland, Ilknar, and Chatulkik work together to interrogate Barrelrider for their identity and purpose. They reveal they work for a key figure in the Grey Coasts, and that they deliver a potion precious to orc palates.
Brimstone wraps up the day by making a holy symbol for his new patron god, Tritherion. He also continues his training with water vehicles.
The next morning, they are greeted to a tale from Dupois, an ratuess far from the western Lands of the Animaesus, for he shares a story of a badgerman felling a young adult tarrasque, something that happened around this time a year ago.
More training is had this day, the 15th of Fall Feather, but it is ended with Skiff divulging the true history of the world, and how the gnomes stole from the god of kobolds, elves don't know shite, and humans will bring about the end of the world.
Rognur and E'krae meet later that day, and they discuss the yuanti's worldly travels, and how he only knows of two great hall of alabaster, where Rognur saw his wife and presumed child (last session). The hobgoblin asks E'krae for assistance in locating his wife, and they discuss the prevalence of her female sex to the cultural of the orc people, predominantly matriarchal, and how they still have Auna, a female warrior of the scions, in their brig.
The next morning, a island, not on their maps is declared, a sanctum protected by the ghost ship, the Twilight Revenge. This elven trade vessel, a long boat, marks a magical island guarded by a queen. The group elects for speed and they bypass this distraction.
The following day, they are greeted to the horizon of the continent of the Scions, but first they find a small island, and hidden near it, three small orc ships lay in wait for them.
