Session 126: Scallywags: Rest Thwarted by a Queen's Wrath

General Summary

After the Scallywags return from finalizing Ioomore's demise, Torth and Weebs meet with Ilknar and Brimstone before Aikhon takes them back to the Razor. They say their goodbyes, and Torth prays over their future, asking for Nethpione to be watched over. Ilknar and Brimstone then share an awkward moment of silence before the Bosun asks of his Captain about dreams he may have had recently concerning the Wall and the fate of the throne. Brimstone remembers a golden dragon statue, an acknowledgement of success towards their future aims. This somewhat comforts Ilknar, be he has been questioning his faith and conviction toward a destiny of him on the throne of not just Giants, but that of the Faces--the Grey Coasts--too. What responsibility should he follow? For Others? What can he say to what may or may not be true to his own sense of destiny and fate?

Brimstone senses this readiness within his friend, and he speaks to how the gods have destined many things, but that our own desires matter, too. We make our own path.

Ilknar sees a divine blue and gold light encircle Brimstone and he speaks, and the giantkin can help but acknowledge a sanctity in those words. The gods approve the choice that is made. Ilknar needs nor more words but this: Brimstone is his Captain, and Ilknar will follow him to whatever end. Brimstone accepts a future, it seems, filled with more adventure than a throne for a king.

(We retcon some stuff from the previous session Session 125: Scallywags: A Dwarven Font, Wizard Manipulated , and Mila investigates the power source of Ioomore's facility. She find's how to disconnect the God's bed from the tower, and she takes that, many documents from the tower libraries, and eight spell crystal imbued with distinct magics Ioomore needed for his cloning.)

Then we rest, but dreams and nightmares torment the Scallywags. Orran, an elf, is able to trance with no disturbance, for his ancient fey ancestry does not allow Elves to sleep, really. Wulfgar, also, sleeps soundly, for he has an amulet to protect him from odd divinations. Brimstone dreams of success again, of dragons and sanctity of purpose. The wall is there's, the darkness has fallen, and destiny is protected, for all of the Grey Coasts. Sasha, also, has dreams that offer comfort. She has already defeated those who needed to fall, with Brimstone, Ilknar, Wulfgar, Orran, and Mila, and now she is is Grindstone again, with the power she needs to face, something, some entity. She still must prepare.

Mila, in her dreams, finds herself back at the Topsy Turvy, the noise, sweat, and booze about her, but instead of Swamperson at the bar, it is Queen Jhusve serves her a shot. She wants to know who has protected her lover's soul from resurrection, what cleric. She calls Mila a traitor many times. However, Mila is confused, and the attempt for Jhusve to lash out towards her fail. Mila dreams, yes, but then awakes.

Ilknar also has Jhusve in his dreams, but on the beaches of Feon, and where he at first sees Nethpione only for his love's visage to be taken over by the Queen's. She is indeed a beautfiul human, with white hair made so by the magics she has played with, the desperation is quite apparent in her voice as she also asks Ilknar of whom helps them guard Boveen's soul form resurrection--who made the brand upon his forhead? Ilknar does not know, for the head had not been returned from Wulfgar's possession. He resists the answer, but his mind is taken to a dark image, a dark dream, yet again. He is below the wall, and he hears Nethpione scream from 200 feet above. He jumps and scales in but a few bounds to be upon the wall. Yet, the golden dragon is a tentanctle beast, most of the squirms coming from its maw and face, and from the ground, for golden and dark spiked tentacles hold Nethpione from each limb, eventually to draw and quarter her in a sacrifice to this aberration before them. Ilknar resists the powers, the blinding light, and cahrges to stop the abberrant dragon from consuming his love, and breaking her free from the deadly restraints. He awakes from this nightmare, and he is unable to fall back asleep. Later in the night, they hear a commotion upstairs on the main decks of the Call, and Chatulkik, Dosgratin, Ilknar, and eventually Brimstone, Lady Sasha, Wulfgar, and Orran, engage with a assault group from the queen: wizards pinpointed on the silence and death of Ollie, the former chosen of King Boveen. They have attacked her ability to speak, and they have draconian mages and dark ghasts to distract and oppose them. The Crew awakes as the Scallywags defeat those who who trying to kill Ollie. They converse foraa few minutes, trying to find how, after two nights of strange dreams and an attack on their vessel, how can the defend themselves and really sleep.

However, during that time, another group teleports next to them, with trolls and warriors with magic weapons and armor, and even two other wizards that try to waylay the group aboard deck so Ollie can be taken? Killed? Mila deflects magic they cast. The trolls and ghasts and warriors, though, create a circle to defend the wizards as they prepare for their next spells.  '
