Session 122: Scallywags: Consequences of Obsession and Love
General Summary
A gathering has been called, early in the morning, by Brimstone, and the captains and mates, and guests, will gather on the Call for an important officer's moot. However, during this morning, opportunity is taken in three ways. Below deck, many of the crew gather for bets and gambling about a social event that the Horizon's Call and its Scallywags, let alone the Crimson Fleet, have never seen. Large sums are being thrown around, and the names of Ilknar and Nethpione circle at the crux of the issue.
Mila notices this on the way to the meeting with Captain Will of the Redwing. She follows below, and she notices Cody joining the betting circle, at least viewing. She casually walks her way over, and she grabs him and throws him into the room behind him, where he falls in a hammock after stumble for more than ten feet.
Ilknar is gathering above deck, and an entourage and audience gathers behind him. He stands on deck, watching Nethpione enjoy the sea, the wind. Lady Sasha watches on, with Hrilda standing behind, and Pemi furiously trying to capture the venture. George, Korgak, and Kronk and Freydis watch on as well. Mr. Dewelling stands nearby, ready to serve. Ilknar speaks. She is the sky, the eye of the storm, the reason for his being and nature. His purpose. She says yes, and claps and celebrations ensure, with bets below bellowing in their own confirmation to the task at hand. She grabs his hand, and lets him take her in an embrace like the warmest sea waters. Then they kiss. After the kiss, Lady Sasha brings Ilknar aside, for she has seen what is brewing to the west of them, just thirty or so feet away--aboard the Living Vessel of Lady Saerah. She warns Ilknar, and she tells him that he must go face Saerah, and tell her the truth about his true idea of love.
For the last few minutes, that has been brewing, for Saerah is ready to cast her commune ritual from the spell scroll she and Aikhon and Orran have procured. Those three are there, too, but so are Brimstone, too, seeing this arise, wanting to witness and support his brother Aikhon, and also Wulfgar, who helped Saerah find these answers in the first place. They gather, and she begins, and they the claps erupt and distract her, Saerah, and she rises for a better view. She misses answers to one of her questions, but still she seems convinced of her destiny to be with Ilknar.
Orran and Wulfgar spend much time and effort to persuade her otherwise, and Mila hears of the events above, and now Krarissa informs the whole congregration of Ilknar's acceptance towards facing Saerah. With this, Mila gleefully follows, knowing the drama will be for a treat. Indeed, when Ilknar finally arrives, the leaves of the Living Vessel change to the fall colors, for Saerah still cannot understand this placement of fate. She even tries to charm the others to help her, but only affecting Horizon, and then again focusing a charm on Ilknar, making him kiss her, and forcing him to follow her. It does not work, and Ilknar teleports away. She then screams, wanting all to leave here. Ilknar stays, and so does Orran. Ilknar tries to console her, and she tries to charm him. Orran and Wulfgar preach of patience, and Brimstone, Mila and the other watch on in awe.
It is then the meeting comes, and Orran convinces Saerah to rest. At the meeting, loose plans are laid for the next steps toward the capital. Cody is also inverviewed to better understand what comes at them: the city is stratified, and there are many forts on the way there, let alone boats to waylay them on the way there. The queen is culpable, and the Collegiate Arcanum will stand on its own. Thus, they agree that maybe they should go there first. They will convene as a whole, with even the Kobold Kollective in tow.
However, there is a wedding first, and then Ioomore's final cloning facility is still out there. Lady Sasha will take us to that.
