Session 121: Scallywags: The Topsy Turvy

General Summary

Walking outside of the Citadel of South Ireef, a lofty building at the center of this expansive city, one now taken over by the people. They were lead by Ilknar, son of storm giants, Mila, the daughter of the Ireef, Brimstone, the fire of Dovah, and even Lady Sasha D., the hammer of lightning. Now, these four go to the Topsy Turvy, to reconvene with leadership and close compatriots of this rebellion they have started. Yet, Mila knows this will only last a day. The city, Ireef, has a life of its own. Lady Sasha, however, takes this time to inform them of her key worry: the clone, and another facility to create more clones, is still out there somewhere. They must do something about, but Mila convinces them to return to the Topsy Turvy, first. She needs to rest, and well, take care of some key familial things for herself.

It takes them thirty minutes or so to climb through the waters, ropes, wooded bridges and the like for the 'streets' of South Ireef. When the arrive in the Topsy, well along the way, there are more and more gatherings of people and followers, of militia and resistance to the loyal of Master Ioomore. Once inside, they arise up the stairs, to the main arena and bar of the tavern. Around the bar, Pojin, Teyos, Dosgratin, Chatulkik, and the militia from the tavern itself, Ruthgar, Maarvel, and many more. Mila crosses aside, annoyed at the gather around her father, Pojin, and she steals Brimstone's drink he just got from the bar and takes a seat at a table alone. Ruthgar soon follows her, and Wulfgar is across the room attending to the wounded and lost with both triage and blessings from the primordials. This is when the notice, Mila, Ilknar, Nethpione, and Lady Sasha, that many who have lined up towards this building are here for these blessings. The fearful day has made many seek religion when they normally would not.

At this point, Ilknar notices something off about a human sitting near the center ring, and he gets a drink just to throw it at the human, and knock him into a fight. Confused at first, the human must have missed the signs, clearly placed, but at the height for dwarves and gnomes. The Challenge has been made, and his reputation will be tarnished if he were to refuse. He accepts, and this is when Wulfgar notices, for the human requests assistance upon his wounds, but the dwarf cleric sees an odd tattoo on the man's neck. He is, or was, a member of the Kingsmen. Ilknar knows this too.
While they fight, Ruthgar talks with Mila, well mostly drinks at first. Nevertheless, he tries to show companionship with her, so he can eventually ask her to talk with her father.

The fight is short, for Ilknar is quick to pin the human into submission. The giant then invites is opponent for a drink, and Ilknar asks him of questions of loyalty and truth. How this Seeker, once a great title by Wulfgar's understanding (one whom is nearby to see and eavesdrop). The Seeker will return home, but not before a warning from Ilknar to his presumed boss.

Mila is finally convinced by Ruthgar, and she crosses back to the other side, pushing Ilknar's chair and drink. There she stands ready to talk to Pojin, whom still flirts with Francine, waiting for the ale to help him fall asleep. Mila asks him why, and how he got here. He needed time, he said, to understand and process, to say goodbye. Mila knows her mother kept her away from Pojin for a reason, tried desperately to do so. Pojin seems to know why, and accepts, and now he wants something he should have needed so many years beforehand. He wants his family, both those of blood and of choice. Mila doesn't want anything to do with this. With him. She walks away. Pojin accepts, and he returns to the bar. The night wraps up, lost, unexpected, but quiet, nonetheless.

Orran has already returned to the Call with Cody, and he is also with Aikhon and Saerah, whom is eager to use her commune spell scroll to know about her true love and destiny for Ilknar. They climb to her ship, her living vessel fo trees, grass, kelp, ivy, and many other flora. Once there, they are able to convince the impatient Saerah to wait on the spell, for one, she needs Ilknar to bear witness, and two, she needs Wulfgar to ensure its success. Aikhon attempts to contact them, but he gets no response, and therefore is left to only confirm what Orran has already stated. Orran also takes the spell scroll to ensure this timing works to her effect. He even gets Cody a room in the guest quarters on the Call.

The Next Day:
Aikhon meets with his two brothers, and they are discussing the next steps, mostly at Vareth's lead. During this talk, a horn is blared, high in pitch and clear. Vareth recognizes this, and knows his own ship has arrived. Yet, now the others learn, it is manned, at least for now, by 12 undead sailors, those who have died aboard the ship, Vareth's vessel, the Night's Dream. Gyc has brought it, too.

Also, Wulfgar returns to the Call to check up on Ihapaeg. He is lost in his own dementia, and Wulfgar and Yolov attempt to calm the ancient dwarf. Yolov also shows Wulfgar the brand upon the ancient dwarf's heart, the mark of the dark primordial, Had.
