Session 107: Animaesus and Tarrasques: Legends Merged: Not Always Heroes
General Summary
They come upon the Tarrasque, the great monster of the Realms, in mourning, weeping over the fallen light, his dwindling sun. Eros sends a magical message to Birdman, saying she and Stryke and Leandra and her crew are close to the Tarrasque. Birdman confirms, and he asks her to wait, so he can begin to approach the beast, to calm this solemn loss. Meanwhile, Flimn and Aelizt breakaway from Birdman, but at his protest to wait, they do momentarily, hoping their hunting skills lend them enough aid to get close to the beast. The beast does not engage, but soon stops and listens as Eros connects her mind to the two silhouettes and the beast, knowing one of the shadows moving so quickly must be Birdman. At first Flimn is part of the conversation, one of the silhouettes, a lupin warrior, bodyguard and Walker Follower of Aelizt. The whole conversation within the fours' mind's eyes is baffling to the wolfkin, and it makes him pause. The beast screams in the other two's heads, their minds--Birdman and Eros--about how it is his fault his sun has died, perished without his own knowledge; their intimate bond was her own doom.
Birdman remembers that, how she came days before, for she was sent on divine purpose, a destiny and fate of the Primordial Eight, to destroy the beast, or it would destroy her. But, here, she fell in love with the monstrosity, and chose to stay, despite the doom it brought to her.
The Tarrasques slams the ground, and Eros and Stryke's group watch on in awe, despite K'ash and Kaitba wanting to attack--their instinct primed for such interaction. They wait, and let the slams quake the earth, and slam Ninui, Aelizt, and Flimn--Birdman jumps in the beast's mouth, and stablilizes himself there, tentacles wrapped around teeth like spider webs. However, once Ninui stands, well kneels, he praises the sky, and asks for Divine Intervention by his god, the Primordial and All-Father Kyten. Clouds roll in, and a storm erupts, lightning jolts down, and soon a woman appears in front of Eros, who is piloting Kash, and Stryke with Kaitba, Leandra, and the young pumthera's crew. Mystra's avatar and visage comes to help prepare and change the course of destiny, but to do that, the Arcane Goddess implores, they must calm the beast. Eros pilots K'ash forward, and Mystra teleports to be closer; Stryke waits, with Nuvell, Leandra and her Crew. The other Walkers, Flimn stunned, Aelizt in awe, Ninui prostrate and praying, wait for Birdman to calm the beast, for Mystra to sing an arcane song to quell its anger, and Eros and her primordial to face it willingly.
The beast listens and calms, and they all gather around Mystra as she stands in front of the maw of the Tarrasque, kneels in front of his sun, Eember, creates from the air a diamond to resurrect the fallen elemental, and time stops. The mile of earth the Tarrasque controls, allowing none in the sky to fly, becomes the cage from which the God of Change, Jacq controls. He stops time around the mile circle, and he appears in the form he can in this realm, and avatar of light and energy, an elemental of the primordials. A debate ensures of the validity to change prophecy to designed to promote the change within the world, to allow light to come from darkness, or the nothing from something, to change the pace and the insight it brings. Jacq seems at first unwilling to her from the impatient mortals, and then Mystra steps forward, and she argues for insight into the unknown, who even the gods cannot see the light everywhere, and how their prophecies play out. Eros even stuns the God with the idea of soup, to counter the idea of the validity of the prophecies written. The write them, and then they must see who actually carries the banner to that freedom. Inevitably, they convince the lord, somehow, and the Lord of Change allows the resurrection of Eember to continue, to flourish into her own light. He disperes, the elemtnatl of light, and the light bathes over the Tarrasque and his sun, and it morphs them into genasi, children of the elements, and mortals who can indeed love and live together. Mystra stays but for a moment, and then must disperse, too.
The others gather round, the Mores of Salt: Eros, Stryke, Birdman, Nuvell, and then Leandra and her Crew, and then the Enders, the Walker Leaders: Aelizt, Flimn and Ninui. They witness the impossible, a celestial event that defies destiny, gods, and denizens of beyond.
Eros greets the new lovers, and bestows the Tarrasque with the name Gojira. Stryke, however, steps forward, and he accuses the Walker Leader, the Testudine Ninui--Cleric of the Primordials. Ninui lead the Jourvian Dwarves to the lands of the Lapids. Yes, he did, and Aelizt steps forward to try to explain and defend his old friend, but the tension is still too high, the confusion like a concussion. Aelizt and others break away, leaving the tension, and Lendra, Stryke's adoptive daughter, follows. There, they can calmly discuss and apologize, and realize the lack of knowledge and movement of the Lands of the Animaesus, the City of Salt, and the Jourvian dwarves cannot always all be known. Yet, to the south, the pressure of the Jourvians is not done: 20-30 thousand dwarves are said to still continue this invasion. They worrt the dwarves have more primordial mechanoids, yet Eros knows that they cannot. There are only 49 in total, one from each major continent of the world: the dwarves only have three left, and there are five available still in these Lands of the Animaesus. Eros reminds them to swallow their pride, and to move on from this feud. Aelizt then announces the movement of rest, and then time to the south to the Testudine, to find one of these lost mechanoids, and then south to face the Jourvians. Eros remembers the time when she found Roxana below the city, trying to not exhaust herself by bonding to K'ash for the drow Matron Mother. Eros offers K'ash to aid, and Stryke bestows Kaitba to Leandra.
Yet Eros is not prepared to fight more, so this is where she will finally leave Stryke as he will join his ancestral people, with his daughter Leandra, and they will stay behind to sanctify and protect the Animaesus Lands from this Jourvian Invasion. Eros, however, is not a hero, and her legend must travel elsewhere.
All the while, Nuvell has been trying, well, sort of, to keep the two lovers at bay. Birdman sees that Nuvell has given up, and he goes to ensure talk to Gojira and Eember. He wants to know their plans, and Gojira states he wants to planes travel. He wants to invite others with him, and he goes to Eros and others to invite them, assuming Birdman will travel with them. Gojira is impatient, and Eros helps to create this patience. Stryke gives Eros his helm of teleportation, so his children can join him later if they wish. Eros then makes a plan to spend a month with Birdman, Gojira, and Eember in their planar travels, then the Children will join them.
Eros goes to Birdman, and Eember too. They soon are consumed, absorbed, or ignited within Gojira, and they traverse corporeally through his flesh, to some demiplane with in the beast. The beast is still a titan, but somehow not. And with that, they travel from his fart, and planar travel begins.
Eros and Birdman and Eember find their way inside teh tarrasque to the lung where their old apartment resides.
Birdman and Eros have time to talk, to remember and reminisce, and they are ready to for what comes next. A New cage, a new hope, for that is how Eros first found the Birdman, trapped in the City of Salt, locked in a forgotten cage.
Eember tries to cook, but fails, so they ask for resources telepathically from their Gojira friend, whom they still reside within his lungs, in an apartment taken from the City of Salt. He gives them tea and crumpets, and he has a new accent of nobility. With this, they must see, for he talks to a Lady Birkenshire, and the three force Gojira to vomit them up, so transporting them to be present. Here, they fall on the ground in a grandiose wooden palace of a passionate and fey design. The Lands of Arboria is where they reside, where their planeswalking begins...
Then we see the final moments, Kaitba and Stryke: Leandra learning to fly; the Walkers and K'ash dances of hope and warrior spirit; gatherings of militias against dwarven resistance and mechanoids in a ravine; the swamps disappearing as the City of Salt crumbles and wails. The Lands of the Animaesus ready for the future.
