The DeepRock

In the rugged northern reaches of the Hog Mountain Range lies an enigmatic passageway known as The DeepRock. Carved into the mountainside, this subterranean marvel is more than just a means of passage; it serves as a gateway to the depths of the Underdark, a realm of darkness and mystery that both beckons and terrifies adventurers.   Unlike the foreboding reputation often associated with entrances to the Underdark, The DeepRock offers a surprising contrast. It is not guarded by malevolent creatures or ancient curses, but rather by a small family of Duergar, a race known for their affinity with the depths and their penchant for secrecy.   These Duergar, however, defy the stereotypes that shroud their kind. Instead of seeking power and domination, they have embraced a different path, one of commerce and cooperation. They have chosen to make The DeepRock their domain, offering passage to those brave or foolish enough to venture into the Underdark's embrace.   At the heart of their operation lies a reverence for an ancient deity known simply as "Guide." Once a powerful god who illuminated the paths of travelers with his everlit lantern, Guide has since fallen from grace, his divine light dimmed and his presence diminished. Yet, the Duergar family persists in their devotion, honoring Guide's memory as they guide travelers through the labyrinthine tunnels of the Underdark.   Despite the risks and the steep tolls, The DeepRock remains a beacon of hope for those who seek adventure and fortune in the depths below. For beneath the shadowed peaks of the Hog Mountain Range, amidst the darkness of the Underdark, lies a world of untold wonders and unspeakable dangers, waiting to be explored by those who dare to tread where few have gone before.
