Rotbody, the Swamp Monarch, is a small, green, salamander-like creature adorned with crooked, branching horns. Despite her diminutive and almost comical appearance, Rotbody is a terrifying force in Zochakha’s swamps. All life in the bog, plants, beasts, and even the swampwater itself, fears her acid-laced presence. A single drop of her acidic mucus can dissolve flesh, metal, and wood, leaving behind only a pile of pristine bones. She hoards these bones obsessively, stashing them in sunken lairs like a dragon hoards gold. Most who meet her mistake her for a strange swamp critter, never realizing they’ve crossed paths with one of the 16 Monarchs.
