Graystead is a town of geysers and hot springs. It is a luxury place in Zecria. The hot springs have healing properties that replenish any wounds or exhausted arcane spells. This town also produces lots of potatoes and carrots, roots. There is a cabal of witches and wizards who govern the town. One of Bothos' spells created a massive storm that destroyed half of the stone buildings in Graystead. The town of Graystead is in fear of barbarians coming to take over and make use of the magical hot springs. Because of that fear a series of watchtowers and forts spread throughout the town. The rules here seem to be enforced in a haphazard fashion, incomprehensible to visitors. This is due to the outspoken philosopher who is the authority figure here.

Graystead is a weird place in terms of laws. Money doesn't seem to work here. Just trading for rare magic items. If you have those to trade you can get pretty much anything.

Certain wizards and other arcane practitioners keep their watch on the towers.

Not much trading comes out of Graystead, but lots of trading goes on within the town.

Watchtowers and forts where built to keep an eye out for any random encounters.

History

As far as ancient texts say this town has been here since the dawn of time. Legend has it that Bothos himself use to bathe in the the same hot springs they offer here.
