Owens BioSystems
Owens BioSystems is a biosciences corporation headquartered in Raleigh-Durham, Carolina and one of many bio-technology companies to emerge from the Research Triangle in the 2050s. OBS has a wide array of product lines including pharmaceuticals, bio-implants, and gene therapy. In 2076 the company was awarded a contract by the American government to research genetically modifying Terran flora and fauna for the conditions of Kanaloa. OBS technicians accompanied the first wave of colonists to the moon in 2083 and began small scale seeding experiments, mostly on the northern continent of Moranga. Despite the objections of a UN Bioethics panel, their successful efforts saw other governments and settlement groups hire OBS to seed dozens of sites across the moon.
