A sickness spread during the era from the Middle-Western part of Syron, finally stopped by a strange discovery.

It all started with a man of ambition. A wizard experimented with a disease on crops, intending to cause despair in the locals, winning them for his own cause. The sickness, however, got out of hand, turning out to be a more efficient weapon against the people themselves rather than the grain or rye. No cure was known for a long time, until a strange group discovered that a byproduct of focus-making can be used as an ailment. As the material was extremely rare, it took a relatively long time until it reached all those in need. Despite a few later outbreaks, the sickness was since relatively kept under control.
