Othmar Cyrrel was one of the kings of Syron who was forced by the Council to resign. The decision was based on his neglect of the subjects and actions that threathened the peace of Syron on its Eastern borders. Since it did not have to come to blows during the replacing of the monarch, after several debates, the representatives of Syron allowed for his son, the more gentle Moenron, to take his place.

Othmar I was more of a trader than a king, and he cared not for the good of his people. Thus, entire villages on the eastern parts of the realm were threathened by famine, and at one point, they joined the realm of the Bright Elves who provided them with their basic needs. Though the Elves did not provoke the action, they were not reluctant to change the borders either.   At the news of territory loss, Othmar was furious, and - not being prepared for attacking the neighbouring country, took revenge on Bright Elves living in Syron, taking their properties and prosecuting many for treason (most trials ending in executions).   The Council replaced the king before the events could have caused war, and it was up to the son Othmar to formally apologise for his fathers deeds, and to mend the diplomatic bonds.
