Spiritual capacity is the total amount of spiritual energy a person is able to store within themselves at a given time. Medical professionals are able to measure spiritual capacity via an analysis of their total spiritual output. Spiritual output is the body's ability to transfer their spiritual energy stores into something else, such as electricity or various magical activities. The Yashelin have higher spiritual capacities and outputs than other species as a general rule. Even amongst them, however, there is a broad spectrum of difference between individuals.
High Capacity People
Those with the highest capacities are referred to commonly as the Magi in Aravun Yashelin society. Not only are they able to store a vast quantity of spiritual energy within them, but they are about to release the majority of it towards various pursuits without significant wastage. The person within the highest recorded spiritual capacity and output is Uri, followed closely by Heyir and Ibish.
Those with extremely high spiritual capacities, like the Magi, often show behavioral differences that distinguishes them from their peers. How marked these behavioral differences are depends on a number of factors, such as the person's ability to mask them and whether their friends or caregivers are trained to notice them. Abnormal sleep patterns, such as insomnia, and "explosive" releases of emotion are hallmark symptoms of a high capacity. Other traits such as hyperactivity, impulsivity, and combativeness are common. Most cases are caught during a person's childhood, but exceptions exist and must always be looked out for.
Low Capacity People
There is no specific name for people who are lower in spiritual capacity and output, unless one considers normal or average to be acceptably defining terms. The Yashelin with the lowest measured spiritual capacity is Ozim Laila. Kivrians also have low spiritual capacity and output on average. Even Kivrians with higher spiritual capacities for their species struggle from how much spiritual energy their body consumes as fuel for itself.
Those with low spiritual capacity often do not demonstrate behavioral differences from their peers, except for a marked difference in ability to practice the manipulation of spiritual energy.
