Faridas

A Farida (actual name tbd) is a professional magic user who specializes in musical and writing based magic, including but no limited to creating and maintaining blessings and wards for the general public. On average, a Farida's primary tasks include performing simple blessings on buildings and items as well as maintaining already existing blessings. They may also be tasked with creating and maintaining other types of magic as well, such as wards. Only the most advanced Faridas are called upon to maintain the massive magical structures, such as the one that protects the Kotuye Library, or to perform creationist magic, such as the magic which transforms a Kivrian spirit into a Yashelin without explicit intervention by the Ida.   Only the most advanced and powerful of Farida consider this profession their full-time occupation, preferring to treat it as a special certification rather than a way of life. Usually, full-time Faridas are folks who maintain specialized magic, such as the Farida in charge of keeping the waters of Caso Rovash's hot springs blessed. This is an especially grand task, considering that most magic is performed on solid objects. Other Faridas usually perform on an 'on-call' basis in addition to or to supplement their primary occupation. All altarkeepers, for example, must be certified Faridas either before they are taken on as an apprentice or over the course of their training.   Examples of Faridas from different walks of life in Aravun Yashelin society include:   Hanalun is a full-time Farida, a part-time altarkeeper, and an ex member of the Magi. They specialize in exceptionally strong blessings and wards meant for permanent structures, and their magic is indelibly tied to the strength of the Kotuye Libary's wards. Although they are an altarkeeper and thus have permission to perform creationist magic, they abstain as a matter of religious belief.   Amatu is a skilled Farida who solely uses their talent as a part of their work as a Rainbow, or courtesan. They specialize in the application of blessings directly to the skin of their clients, usually temporary blessings that are aimed towards relaxation or heightened senses.   Triva is a full-time altarkeeper, part-time Farida, and member of the Magi. They specialize in industrial-centered magic. They mostly perform blessings on industrial equipment, but enjoy blessing people in such a way that bolsters their energy. They also provide magic alongside the rest of the Magi directly to industrial vimstones, which is the primary energy source for electricity in Aravun Yashelin power plants. They also dabble in experimental magic, but the less said on their experiments the better.
