History
Following the near full destruction of Camor during one of the many religious civil wars that plagued the region, the leading ecclesiastical order realized that they need to form an impartial city guard. While the Lord Protectorate's often had ties to the church, they were always selected based on their loyalty to the city above all else. The oath is to bind the city guard to the entire population.
