Sorilios, the Sun God
Domain: Sun, Creation, Life, and Judgement
Sorilios is the sun and the god of life. His form is the sun itself, its brightness hiding him from mortals. His physical form resembles that of ancient philosophers, with a thick well kept white beard and slightly curly hair, he only wears a tunic that flows with him. When he shows himself to his followers and generally mortals, he chooses to show himself barefoot in an empty marble hall, lightly lined with gold and with bright white light passing through the hall's window. Within this empty halls, there is no wind or sounds from outside, it seems like a universally isolated place that bring feelings of comfort and peace to those inside.
As the god of life, Sorilios is the creator of life and anything living. While the creator of life, he is not responsible for their growth, their evolution, their free will and their knowledge. He simply served and serves as the progenitor of life on Azurea. Him being the sun represents this since life cannot continue without his heat and subsequently, his love. The Church of the Sun is the largest of the four churches and it is generally considered good. Its values follow in Sorilios' work, to preserve life and create more of it while living room for future generations to grow. Devout followers of Sorilios generally are good and see the day as holy and try to do as much good as they can within it and at night they await the return of their god's warmth.
Temples and churches built in his name are generally decorated with gold or built in desserts or other high-temperature places. His clerics and paladins spread peace and balance, healing wounded and saving innocents. While being the life-giver, he is not opposed to taking lives when needed. People who actively take lives and harm others' lives are prime targets to be hunted by his paladins. These paladins often walk a thin line between following Sorilios or going over the edge and killing aimlessly. As such, paladins and clerics of the Church of the Sun must have strong convictions and understand what the church represents. They must act as judges, juries and executioners without making a single slip-up. When taking a life, they want to know all the facts before they decide if its right to take it, and taking a life is only done with a prayer to Soirilios because they're harming his creations.
