Azeroth (continent)

The continent of Azeroth is one of the three continents that form the Eastern Kingdoms, it lies to the south of Khaz Modan.   Though Azeroth was held for some time by the Horde during the Second War, it has mostly been freed by the Alliance. It contains the Kingdom of Stormwind as well as several surrounding territories, including stranglethorn vale, the burning steppes, and the blasted lands. The Blackrock mountain range is where continental Azeroth ends and Khaz Modan begins.

Geography

Azeroth is mostly forest and mountain ranges. To the north and east are the Blackrock and Redridge mountain ranges. On the south east is the swamp of sorrows, and blasted lands (formerly the black morass). Central to the continent is the vibrant Elwynn forest and cursed Duskwood forest. West of that is the large expansive plains known as Westfall, where most of the food is produced in the continent. South of the forests lies the hot, humid, and tropical Stranglethorn Vale, a dense jungle home to trolls and the free city of Booty Bay.   A large freshwater river runs through the middle of the continent, feeding into the Stranglethorn Bay.

Fauna & Flora

Azeroth has a wide selection of plant and animal life, befitting its wide range of biomes. From the domesticated animals of cows, sheep, and boar, to bears, wolves, and horses. In the southern jungle one can find tigers and jaguar, as well as basilisks, large apes, and primates.   The herb Stranglekelp is found exclusively in the waters around Stranglethorn Vale and is valuable to alchemists as the primary ingredient in most water breathing potions.

Natural Resources

Azeroth is a prime source of lumber, pelts, meats, and various metals. Stranglethorn Vale is untapped in all its resources, and recently various cartels have tried to extract those resources.
