Session 30: To Beat a Devil

The group recovered from the previous night's fight against the heavily jeweled Devil who had teleported away at the last moment. Tracking down Jelfi to her home, she pointed them towards the cave with a strange rift where she'd taken the crystallized victims to begin the process and mentioned that she'd likely be gone by the time they returned.   Heading out and into the hillside, they found the cave in question, which seemed benign at first, but upon delving deeper, discovered that it was being filled with crystalline structures surrounding a large wound in the earth that seemed to hold the rift Jelfi had mentioned. Before they could do too much investigation, the devil entered from slightly deeper in the cave, and round two began.   Fearing for his still-weakened life, the devil used every trick he could think of, including taking advantage of the mask-like gemstone Therei had recovered from Jelfi the day before. Shaking itself free of his pouch, it crackled and grew into a massive Crystalline Golem, adding another layer to the fight.   It was a hard-fought battle, but after Therei dealt a decisive blow to the devil, the group focused on the golem and used thunderous noise again and again until it shattered under the assault.   Now, they stand in the Crystal Cavern, the rift radiating energy towards them, threatening to crystallize them as well. What's on the other side, and what will they do next...
