Aduratan
The Aduratans are the primary cultural group of the southermost areas of Korisgana, largely existing south of the Kijar River, while the Koris are predominant to the north.
Though as a culture it is not bound by biology, the majority of Aduratans are vanara, and the Adurata region is seen as the traditional vanara homeland. While settlements in Adurata generally retain effective independance, they collectively form a band of tight alliences that act as a single unit for foreign policy purposes- the Ha'la Surusuru.
Culture
Common Dress code
The core of most Aduratan dress styles is a kajung, a single wrap-around piece of cloth acting as a long skirt, with a slight break in the wrap to allow the tail free that can be easily tied shut on a non-vanara wearer. How exactly it is draped and what else may be worn with it is immensely variable, with most settlements among the Aduratans having their own styles- some are simply worn bare-chested, others made long enough to act as a full-body outfit, others worn with a top of some variety. Kajung are typically intricately woven and patterned, with different settlements and groups having their own patterns.
Aduratans commonly dye or tattoo intricate geometric patterns and tattoos across their bodies, traditionally as spell focuses or for spiritual purposes, but many also signify particular feats and accomplishments. Jewelry of various kinds is also common, mostly consisting of arm, wrist, ankle, and tail rings.
Art & Architecture
Aduratan architecture is best known for the existence of 'Tree Towns', small settlements built entirely in forest canopies, with multi-story rounded buildings around each large tree, with stairs and walkways between them as well as ground-level paths. Larger settlements are built entirely on the ground, but follow similar patterns, with large cylindrical buildings built in several stories, and walkways built between the upper stories. Both are generally constructed mostly from wood.
Artistically, Adurata is best know for its intricate woodwork, generally depicting floral motifs or stylized animals. Patterning is often worked into functional wooden objects as well, like architectural pieces, hilts, or cutlery. Stone and ivory carving in the same styles are also prevalent, but less common. While less prevalent in trade than their woodworking, weaving is also a staple of Aduratan art- most individual communities have at least a few of their own patterns for cloth, beadwork, and basketry.
Major organizations
For most purposes, Aduratan politics is highly decentralized, with most settlements being de-facto indepedant. The settlements however are all tighly linked, trading extensively and forming a mutual allience that negotiates with foreign powers known as the Ha'la Surusuru. The largest settlement by far is the city of Adurata, but Dasol'seko, Vadupa, and Nakapalagum also are major important settlements.
