Yuvnis
Zehraan was the runt of a litter — thin, frail, with a crooked neck and poor eyesight. The hatchling lacked wings and legs. Yet, parents, siblings, aunts and uncles doted over Zehraan. Since childhood, birds piqued his interest. Their sharp vision, brilliant plumage and unbound flight instilled awe and envy inside the young snake. As he grew, he became fascinated with science and buried himself in books. He created tiny, bird-like helpers from his flesh to order around and occasionally snack on. And after years of tireless research, Zehraan began working on his final homunculus, the Aakhir.
He grinned ear to ear as his slender fingers weaved the flesh. Zehraan gifted the body everything he yearned for — tall and elegant posture, grand wings, eagle-like vision and beautiful feathers. And when he was satisfied with the work, the scientist sat in front of his creation and began transferring his self into the vessel.
When he opened his eyes, his own grinning face greeted Zehraan. The original body sat motionless, with no signs of life. As Zehraan stood, no expected ache or cramp followed suit. The scientist rejoiced, and was ready to share his success with beloved family and colleagues. But suddenly, an earthquake shook the planet. An enormous, long-necked creature emerged from the depths, its human face staring down at Zehraan. Dread overcame the scientist. Weeping, Zehraan begged the monster to give him more time. But as the planet shattered, he gained the creature’s vast knowledge and ascended into the sixth god, Yuvnis.
Relationship with Shemokmedi
Initially, Yuvnis admired the Sun as the greatest creator. But admiration turned into hatred following the ascension and his planet’s destruction. Yuvnis vowed to avenge his kin and find a way to end Shemokmedi.Physical Description
Zehraan was tall and lanky. His white body was dotted with blue dapples. Instead of wings, he possessed slender arms with spindly fingers. His legs hadn't developed either, causing him to slither with the long tail. His neck was crooked, usually held at an uncomfortable angle. The scientist had narrow, blue eyes. He often smiled from ear to ear, showing tiny, needle-like teeth. Zehraan’s long, black hair flowed down, his unkempt strands often clumping together.Yuvnis's aakhir body is tall, possessing broad shoulders and a wide wingspan. His plumage is black, with vivid scarlet accents. Yuvnis's nose is more pronounced than an average aakhir. The Sixth God often narrows his golden eyes and grins widely, bearing a striking resemblance to his original face.
Second Chances
When different gods formed races on Ayonerra, Yuvnis flew on the planet to create his own. He formed hundreds of aakhir vessels and gathered people who yearned for a new body — sick, elderly, or those longing for a flight. He transferred their consciousness inside the vessels, and so, Aakhirs were born.Yuvnis soon met Med'Hea, a survivor of planet Sept’Ambra, who shared his hatred towards the Sun. Together, they devised a plan. Yuvnis would make an artificial gveleshapi. When it was completed, Med’Hea would kill Shemokmedi and replace it with Yuvnis’s creation. The idea was risky. A single miscalculation could destroy Ayonerra. Yet, the Sixth God saw it as his magnum opus in making and readily began his craft.
Halamuth
When King Al’Anraakh raised flying islands, Yuvnis saw an opportunity to work without any disturbance. He took one floating land and headed towards Halamuth, a twin-pinnacled island in between the Northern Divider and Amaarion. He built a grand observatory and hand-picked aakhir assistants to watch the Sun's slithering body and inform Yuvnis of any changes on its surface.Yuvnis soon befriended the Seventh God, water-dwelling Julio. She wished to aid the scientist’s efforts. To deter anyone from disturbing Yuvnis's work, Julio began circling Halamuth. Her massive body is speckled with holes, forming whirlpools and sky-high tornadoes as she swims around the island.
Yuvnis regularly sends his trusty scouts to recruit renowned scientists from across Ayonerra. The Sixth God offers longevity and a new aakhir body to those he deems truly extraordinary. Many of his apprentices have stood by Yuvnis's side for centuries. Each dawn, the Sixth God spreads his grand wings, circles the observatory and awakens his followers. He then flies into his lab and carries on the work with utmost glee.
Similar to other gods, directly harming the Sun or its children would permanently wound Yuvnis. Following the Rain of Amaars, Yuvnis took dead amaar remains. Thanks to his assistants, the Sixth God made countless samples of their tissues which aided his research.
A happy little accident
One specimen showed potential. It grew to a massive scale, possessing a human-like face and serpentine body. Unlike regular amaars, the test subject’s breath wasn't mutagenic. Yet, against Yuvnis's wishes, the creature gained sapience. In confusion, the panicked amaar tore its shackles and fled towards Amaarion.Yuvnis's scouts soon found the amaar atop the Nimrodial Library. The library keeper, Yellow Grdzneuli Anni, read the creature's mind and ensured it meant no harm. She calmed the amaar and offered to let her stay as Nimrod’s guardian. And the creature agreed. The test subject fascinated Yuvnis, as he had never considered a non-aggressive amaar possessing free will. He appointed several trusty aakhirs to always monitor the creature and inform him of any changes.
There's something quietly compelling about Yuvnis, especially the way their presence seems to challenge expectation without shouting about it. I like how you let the details imply depth instead of over explaining. It feels like there's more beneath the surface here, which is exactly how a character should read. Nicely done!
Thank you! It means a lot to us.
