Mercer River

The Mercer River is the main river of eastern Ayndrinor, originating at the foot of the Backbone Spires and running east through the hills and plains until it meets the Midor Sea on the far eastern coast of Ayndrinor. Near the city of Forx, the Mercer is joined by its tributary, the Colvin River, which originates further north in the mountain range than the Mercer.   The river does not have as much commercial traffic as other major rivers, though there are a few riverboats that travel between Everyn and the inland nation-now-province of Riverford. One of the things the river does have is an abundance of salmon that swim upriver every year and spawn in the two rivers. This is a minor spectacle for some nature-loving travelers, but it is big business for both fishers in the rivers and for trappers who seek the bears that come out of the highlands to feast on the plentiful salmon.
