Holy Copse

The Holy Copse is a forest located in the northern part of the Toldrun See. It sits just south of the Toldrun River, with a small clearing maintained along the river to delineate borders. The forest continues on the other side of the river, into the kingdom of Oestbernia where the forest is known by a different name.   In recent centuries, the See has conducted many raids through this forest, ostensibly looking for heretics who are hiding out. These raids have had the result of displacing or eliminating small villages that were in the forest. Many of these villagers were practitioners of various druidic rites and magics, and the See did not approve of their lack of Toldrun worship. Some were executed for these heresies, while others managed to escape to safer locations. This has left the forest without its usual conservators, so dangerous creatures have been allowed to run free without the usual protectors. Each time the Inquisitors go into the forest, they run into some new dangerous foe they have to go around or try to defeat.
