Welcome to Ayer'hess (IRS, en français A-hier-hhhess)

A brief presentation of the world of Ayer'hess

Welcome to Ayer'hess! How do you like it here? What is that? You don't know where you are? Fear not, brave and confused soul, for I am about to explain it to you!

Your location

Let's begin with where you are. This adventure will start in the Kingdom of Mian, a kingdom of honour and arts. Their society revolves around proving your worth through acts rather than prowess of speech. {Complete with precise position (Barony?)}

Current time

The current date is the 12th day of Camw, the 3rd month of 281 PPMV. PPMV stands for Post Pugnam Malae Virginis, aka After the battle of the virgin evil, a gigantic battle opposing most of the countries of this world against the ever-going war raging on the Virgin Mass.

An adventurer's dream: Dungeons

In this land, there are many "dungeons". These dungeons are what remains of past civilisations and often contain dozens of powerful artefacts. There are three main known types of dungeons, each belonging to a different civilisation.
The first type is also the most common. It remains from the elven empire of Falkon, an empire focused on magic. Many of the items found in those ruins are magical of nature. Because of the elven population that made up most of the population of that time, they often have a woody or natural feel to them.
The second type is a forbidden one. Their civilisation, called the Great Kingdom of lizardfolk and spiderfolks , focused on warfare and developed some of the most powerful weapons in existence. As such, nearly all nations have agreed not to use them in any war, since it might result in the destruction of all lives on the planet. Thus, their access is forbidden to everyone and even knowing the existence of this civilisation is restricted in some kingdoms. Of course, that also means that anyone discovering one of those should never open it, or they risk the death penalty. Their outer appearance is often scally, making them easy to recognize.
The last type and the absolute rarest belongs to a civilisation only known as The First Empire. The only thing known about them, apart from their advanced magic that eludes even the most skilled abjurer, is that their civilisation died because of powerful plagues, and many of those plagues still lay dormant. Thus, access to their ruins is strongly restricted, until complete decontamination is ensured. Their ruins being the oldest, they have blended the most with nature. But if found, they are recognizable by the quality of the metal they are made of.

The Outside World

For those participating in the {Write campaign name when available} campaign, your characters' souls are originating from a world similar to ours. They are employed by the company Divine Game Studio to test their new game, and their souls were temporarily and reversibly sent to the bodies of your Ayer'hess character. This has multiple consequences:

Knowledge of the world.

Upon arrival, the knowledge and memories of your body in Ayer'hess is instantly added to your own, changing your behaviour to match that of your character sheet and allowing you to replace entirely the original owner of the body. Which is fortunate since all of them died the day before (you picked among bodies that died, not the other way around).

The game's settings

In order for you to report on the game's testing, you have two ways of exiting said game:

  • By saying "Out!", your soul is transported to a space "between dimensions" where you can talk with a developer. While your soul is out of your Ayer'hess body, this body continues to do what you were doing if this was a simple, mindless task. If you were doing nothing or something more complicated than "eating", or if the task is finished, the body goes to sleep.
  • Please note that your soul won't exit your body as long as said body can't lay down without falling or hurting itself. This does not include unknown dangers or enemy attacks.
  • By saying "Quit!", your soul is transported back to your original body, allowing you to exit the game. While you are out of the game, you can either let your Ayer'hess body sleep in a coma-like fashion or have it be "removed" through a ray of light 10 minutes after your departure.
An interesting fact to know is that the seats used to transport your soul also maintain your body in its current state, in all regards apart from ageing.
