Manifestation
A wizard's powers are most commonly followed by a flash of light from the valcite gem (see below), but a few will also have a hum or buzz following the spell. When performing their magic, wizards will gain a feeling inside them, but this seems to be different per person and is hard to describe.

Overall wizard magic is drawn from Esvelen, the God of Creation itself, although it is first drawn from the elements such as fire, water, earth, air. However, to use the magic, a wooden staff is required containing a valcite gem. To gain the full extent of their powers, wizards must have their own personal staff, but it is possible to use someone else's.
Material Components
To use their magic, a wizard is required to have a wooden staff containing a valcite gem, whether this staff be first or second hand (or even generational). However, this staff must be suited to the person and unsuitable staff can cause magic to go astray and become uncontrollable. The best magic is performed with a staff specifically made for/by the particular wizard.
Gestures & Ritual
A wizard will generally move their staff in a way depending on what they are trying to do, such as a stamp, wave, jab or spin for certain earth, water, fire and air spells respectively. In addition, some also find adding words to their spells helps them, whether they be real, made up on the spot or even created specifically for the spell.
