Queen/King

Requirements

To be a Queen or King of Azmarin, one must be born into the royal family.

Appointment

The crowning is a special ceremony, with the council members, the High Priest of the Church and the royal family. It is performed by the High Priest by placing the crown upon the candidate's head and is celebrated by a day of parties and parades by the people of Azmarin. However before the crowning takes place, the person must be chosen by the council members in a vote of the suitable candidates (candidates must be of the royal family and background checked by the Priests) for the throne. When the chosen person is decided, they will be publicly announced by the previous King/Queen (if unavailable then by the High Priest).

Duties

They have the obligation to take care of the country and the well being of its people.

Responsibilities

A Queen/King is in charge of leading the council of Lords and making sure that the country of Azmarin is running efficiently.

Accoutrements & Equipment

Despite not having a set uniform for the role, they must be dressed suitably and decently or risk being removed (see below). There is a set of ceremonial robes but they are only to be worn at coronations or other religious affairs.
Every Queen/King has a crown made specifically for them that they wear for any important occasions such as a council meeting or a public speech, however this is not required to be worn at all times, even in public view.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

A Queen/King can be removed from their duties if they are deemed unfit to lead a country by the council of Lords. It would require at least 75% voting in favour of removing them and a suitable candidate must be available and willing.
