Wirwar Jungle

The difference between northern and southern climates can be astonishing.
— Phidi Strideheart, Traveler

Overview

The Wirwar Jungle is a tropical forest on the southern coast of Lluvia. The jungle is largely a tangled mess of vines, trees, and other plants. In addition to the high density of vegetation, there a persistent mist or fog that shrouds the jungle's interior. The exact location of the Jungle lies south of the current border between the Kingdom of Helia, Kingdom of Vhara, and the Azumanami Thalassocracy. It extends from the coast to the southernmost slopes of the Valtava Mountains.

It never occurred to me how confusing a jungle could be until I somehow navigated the Winwar.
— Artur Neha, Traveler

Lost Travelers

The tangled mess of the Winwar Jungle has resulted in some casualties over the years. Travelers who are often very skilled navigators can easily find themselves lost within the jungle. At least twelve travelers are on record as having entered the Winwar Jungle and only four have returned from the jungle.

The Fading Mist

Rumor has it that hiding within the Wirwar Jungle is a tabaxi tribe called The Fading Mist. It is unclear how large or how advanced the tribe is those who have returned from the jungle say they never saw the tribe. This has led some to believe that the Fading Mist may be responsible for the disappearance of travelers over the years.   Many believe that this tribe has mastered the jungle to such a degree that they were able to establish and then isolate an entire city within the Winwar. The confusing nature of the jungle may be due to defensive efforts of the Fading Mist.

If you're hungry, do not eat the bugs of the Winwar.
— Aminah Shade, Florist

Vivid and Poisonous Bugs

The Winwar Jungle is also well known for its colorful variety of bugs. As a rule, the more colorful a bug is, the more poisonous they can be. This rule is true of the Winwar Jungle especially where it concerns the Lluvia Ant. The Lluvia Ant is brightly colored but is capable of shooting acid from their maws. As such, one will need to be mindful of where they step as they traverse the Wirwar. One should also have some way of sleeping off the ground or otherwise isolate themselves. It is theorized that those who don't make it through the jungle made the mistake of making themselves vulnerable to lethal ground level bugs.
