Stop it!
“No, stop it!” she yells over the mall, loud and clearly. “you’re making a mess. Sometimes I regret everything” she continues and slams the door after her.
She was a human. Her son was an half-elf. He always felt misunderstood because he was mixed. And unwanted. Don’t forget that, because most of all he felt unwanted.
“I’m so sorry” she later apologised to her son.
“Mom? Why was I born?”
“What kind of question is that?!”
“Because you don’t like elves. So how could you have me? You don’t love me, right?”
She was thinking about her son’s questions. Amiss was what it was.
“I loved one elf, once. We had you. I love you, son, but I’m afraid I can’t tell you until you’re a bit older”
“Why?”
“The question count has been met today, my son. I’m sorry for yelling at you. I love you.”
She tucked him to bed and he felt both releived that he was loved, but sad that he didn’t know more.
One day, maybe.
