Meta

Religious Influence: There is conflict on the religious frontier, some believing world events to be apocalyptic, others viewing them as a cleansing. Most religious groups still in existence are tending toward cult behavior and attitude.

Rule of Law and Governance: Law is defined by the emerging communities of the area. Faith in conventional governance is flailing and there is an overarching sense of anarchy.

Art and Culture Influence: The apocalyptic events largely eliminated art from before the disaster. There are emerging forms of art and music, a symbol that the world is healing.

Agriculture and Trade: Agricultural communities have sprung up, but most nutrition is found in water bodies. When the earth erupted, millions of gems were jettisoned across the land, rendering them useless. Most trade is done via the barter system.

Drama

  1. Dragons have returned, presumably from their slumber beneath the crust of the earth. They seem to be avoiding populated areas, but there is a growing concern that they will attack the agricultural villages. The dragons have been collected hoards of jewels - hoping to resurrect their god.
  2. The Jewelers association, despite the unsuspecting nature of their title, are a cult of growing prominence. By experimenting with gem cutting and setting, they have discovered that the jewels can imbue one with power. They have been experimenting on 'infidels', and have a growing reputation for savagery.
  3. A self-appointed king of the Origin compound is trying to unite the surrounding lands. His self-righteous attitude makes him blind to the travesties committed by his men. Although many have already tried to unite, he is the first leader to really gain momentum. Many small communities are heading to the Origin, seeking some form of stability.
  4. A young woman is claiming to be a prophet. While she is delusional, she has indeed seen things that others have not. While she is not officially backed by any religious groups, they are all vying for her to act as her figurehead. She has gained a following of those who seem to be able to communicate with the dragons. Some see her as a threat and others as a savior.
  5. A trade route has been established North of Origin. While this was initially used for produce and basic commodities, there is a blossoming slave trade. Saves are not necessarily obtained by ethical means and parents an unprotected families live in fear of being wrenched apart by the traders.
