Crest Cleaver

The weapon provides a +3 bonus to attack and damage. A critical hit will cause the target of the strike to drown, as Crest Cleaver fills their lungs with water. The target will spend the next round stunned as they try to expel the water from their lungs.    While attuned to the weapon, its bearer will be able to use Water Breathing and Free Action. It also works as a weapon of warning.   Sentience: Crest Cleaver is a sentient weapon with an Intelligence of 12, Wisdom of 10 and a Charisma of 17. It has hearing and darkvision to 60 ft. The weapon communicates telepathically with its wielder and can speak, read, and understand Aquan. It can also speak with aquatic animals as if using a speak with animals spell, using telepathy to involve its wielder in the conversation.   Personality: Crest Cleaver fancies itself as the savior of the seas, and adopts a stereotypical pirate's brogue while talking. It's also given to singing sea shanties while bored or nervous.   Crest Cleaver will go out of its way to see that evil sea creatures are defeated. Conflict between the wielder and Crest Cleaver arises when the wielder refuses to act on this.

Crest Cleaver is a legendary cutlass created by Yurdras Dragonbender. It was originally created for a protector of the seas, a Triton, Moros Dhalolnath, who fought Infernal and Abyssal foes under the waters during the Veil War. After that it was handed down to his lover, Captain Salome 'Cruelty' Fletcher. The blade disappeared along with Captain Salome, when she took her ship to the north. It's suspected the ship fell prey to Muldoon Bay.
