Mande

The Mande is a large river that starts in the Foxhole Forest. The river is large, but somewhat slow flowing, making it easy to fish and build bridges, and of course, is a great fresh water source. As a result, there are many settlements along its banks, most notably Eran, the capital of the Kingdom of Eradia. Near most villages along the banks, nets can be seen in the clear waters. Though some fishermen prefer angling since some of the larger fish can destroy the nets.

Geography

In the south-west of Foxhole Forest, the river is made by the joining of the Are and the Caris. It leaves the forest in the south-west, at the village Riverwood. It continues through the Eradian plains where it passes through the capital, Eran. Near the end, the river splits in a delta where the clear waters are replaced by the green of the water plants. Finally, the water is poured out into the Sea of Thorns.

Fauna & Flora

The water is full of various freshwater fish, which are enjoyed by the local villages and cities along the river, the lower half of the river, near the delta the fish population drops somewhat. Salmon can be found swimming up the river during the right period and are eaten as cheap food by the poor. Near the end the river splits into a delta and slows down, causing water plants to become more prevalent, and shifting the fish that can be found to smaller fish that hide between the plants. Larger fish are rarer but still very prevalent in the higher parts of the river, though none can be found in the delta.
