Declaring his new kingdom Ethildor, he and several thousand refugees established Othersturm in a natural harbor formed near the western branch of the Great Divide. There began a dynasty of naval power and colonization that would impose its will on many in the thousands of years to come.
Nearly 200 years after the Great Dawn, in the Great Plains just northwest of the Great Divide, a terrible inferno roared through the disparate towns and cities of the plains. In the aftermath a charismatic leader Ashwin Redcran united the scattered survivors and remaining settlements under one banner.
