In the 241st year of the dawning age a colony of dwarves took it upon themselves to conquer the fissure and dwell there as a sign of there dominance over nature. They dwelled there in the depths of the fissure and in networks of bridges and catacombs hidden inside the cliffs and the upper reaches of Caroth.

Far in the northwest reaches of the land lies one of the twin fissures of Caroth. There the first and greatest of the Dwarven Kingdoms was established and in majesty and might of works no mortal would ever match them again.
