Thilansorei (Tai-lan-Sor-eye)
The Thilansorei were the first kingdom of Avalos, their first ruler Feyrith Valwynn, was consecrated in 179 DA and ruled for nigh on 2000 years before stepping down as his days dwindled. Thilansorei, being the most powerful of the 7 kingdoms was often involved in the greater affairs of Avalos, during the first coming of Mordas the Sorei were the last bastion of hope and it was Aryn Soreil, their capital and crowning achievement, where the Khomarid returned to end the siege of Mordas and gift slivers of their power unto the first mages.
Afterwards they became a major player in the many wars of the Age of Twilight. Rarely involving their full might of arms and remaining mostly content barred within the Vindarin Mountains. Their involvement came more in the way of shipments of arms and armor, which the Sorei excelled at forging.
The greatest event of the age of Twilight however came when, in search of more plentiful reserves of Vanaaldaite (A potent mineral and the main ingredient in many of their weapons) they broke through into an ancient cavern connected to the Carkaroth and in doing so were beset by many demons whose likeness hadn't been seen for thousands of years, in a conflict that lasted nearly 50 years the Sorei waged war in order to keep the demons contained within Toroncaroth (The great mining city and site of the original outbreak)
The end of the Age of Twilight came when a Sorei mage beset by madness fled deeper into Carkaroth and by some unfortunate chance or twisted manipulation was led into the prison of Mordas, where for nearly 500 years he had remained, chained and weak. Then Mordas in all his cunning besieged the soldier with guile and deception and manipulated her into releasing him.
Though the consequences were not immediate, within 100 years Mordas returned, this time with a greater army and the dragonspawn (Humanoid draconic warriors heralded as the deadliest fighters in Avalos) once again he conquested across Avalos and once again besieged Aryn Soreil.
This time however, no divine intervention occured, the siege lasted for 7 days and 7 nights. On the 6th day a mage battling furiously with the dragons in the sky from the back of a Wyvern smote Soronkre, greatest of the dragons of old, and she fell from the sky tumbling into the foundation of the Aryn Soreil toppling the golden tower. The battle was deemed by many over and many more fled and deserted, seeking exile and a life of fear rather than certain death.
The siege lasted for 17 more hours, the end finally came when a dragonspawn leader, gifted sentience to make him a better fighter, rebelled against Mordas and rallied the dragonspawn into battle against the demon. In this way did the ambition of Mordas turn on him, for had he not endeavoured to ensure his new soldiers be the best fighters possible the battle might still have been fully won by him.
During the final act of the siege Aeinor Valwynn challenged Mordas on the plains and in battle grievously wounded him, though not before being mortally wounded himself. Then as the tides seemed to turn from Toroncaroth came up a host of enemies and hoping to survive if not stop the onslaught Arkan, the dragonspawns leader and now the conductor of the free peoples armies, called for a retreat to the nearest mountain pass and along with 500 dragonspawn, held the pass for long enough that dwarven reinforcements from strongholds in Karastain arrived to finally drive the demons back
The Age of Dusk now having begun, Thilansorei largely vanished as its own realm, with its land now scoured by demons and its king dead without an heir, most of the Sorei people joined settlements and city states across Avalos, though the largest contingent sought asylum in Thilanlunei where they were welcomed and dwelt long afterwards.
