Humans defend their lands against those who remain and a few have grown to old age again in secrecy from all dragon-slayers. The Grey Heights contain lava tubes from ancient eruption, many inhabited by kobalds, “the dragon god dwells at the terminus of these tubes!” The Ashwoods contain the ruins of Old Ashton, now only calamity remains. Karatalago Woods contain mysterious wondrous and dangerous. Unicorn and goblin kings are contained within. A great torrent in the past carved the skathari river valley. A central river and several wandering streams cut smaller channels through the basin.
