King Arthur

King Arthur of Brittany is a legendary yet enigmatic figure, shrouded in mystery and revered as both a protector and a ruler of immense power. Few in the nation have seen their king, as he seldom leaves the confines of his castle unless Brittany faces a dire threat—one that even his elite guard, the Round Table, cannot handle. His reclusive nature has only deepened the mythos surrounding him, making him a figure of awe and speculation. The origins of King Arthur are rooted in the tumultuous history of Brittany. As a young man, he lived in the woods while an invader from a distant land ruled over his homeland. During this time, Arthur was trained in the ways of magic and combat by a powerful wizard, preparing him for the day he would reclaim his rightful throne. When that day came, Arthur embarked on a journey across the lands of Brittany, recruiting a chosen champion from each region, eventually forming the legendary Round Table of Arthur.   With his loyal knights by his side, Arthur led a rebellion to overthrow the foreign invader and reclaim his throne. His rule was marked by a firm hand, yet under his leadership, Brittany flourished, growing in strength and stability. However, the kingdom's prosperity was threatened by two devastating curses that nearly brought it to ruin.   The first curse, known as the Lichbane Curse, turned people into unkillable undead. In response, Arthur personally took on the burden of collecting these cursed souls and sought a cure, unknowingly becoming afflicted by the curse himself—a secret known only to a select few. The second curse, the Eternal Sleep, condemned its victims to a lifelike dream, rendering them unconscious for years. To save his people, Arthur bore this curse as well, sacrificing himself to protect Brittany. With Arthur in a deep, enchanted sleep, the Round Table was left to rule in his stead.   During his absence, Brittany faced numerous challenges, with the nation falling into decline and internal strife. The tipping point came during the Pontivy Massacre, where the kingdom of Alba staged a coup. In response, Arthur awoke from his 30-year slumber and unleashed the devastating spell known as Avalon's Light, obliterating nearly everyone involved in the coup before retreating back into his enchanted sleep.   Now, Brittany stands divided. The king who once unified and protected his people is both revered and feared, his return uncertain. King Arthur remains a figure of legend, a sleeping giant whose influence and power loom over the nation even as it struggles with its own identity and future. His image is that of a king burdened by the weight of his own actions and the curses he bore for his people, a ruler whose legacy is as complex as the man himself.
