Dragon Rot

The Dragon Rot is a devastating plague that emerged after the catastrophic explosion of a Dragon Heart engine deep within a mountain in Mannin. The explosion released a wave of chaotic energy that spread across Kerrow, Cymru, and southern Mannin, triggering the outbreak of this terrifying disease.   Symptoms: Initial Stage: The first signs of Dragon Rot are subtle, often mistaken for a common illness. Infected individuals experience fatigue, chills, and a burning sensation beneath the skin. A persistent cough and shortness of breath develop, as if the very air is searing their lungs.   Progressive Corruption: As the disease progresses, the skin takes on a pale, almost translucent appearance, and dark, web-like veins begin to spread across the body. The infected also suffer from intense pain, as their bones and muscles start to warp and contort unnaturally.   Psychological Effects: The Dragon Rot also affects the mind, causing vivid hallucinations, violent outbursts, and a loss of self-control. The infected might hear whispers that urge them toward destructive behavior, further distancing them from their humanity.   Transformation into Monsters: In the final stages, the victim's body undergoes rapid and unpredictable mutations. These transformations are entirely random—some may grow scales, claws, or wings, while others develop grotesque features like extra limbs, elongated teeth, or a hardened carapace. The once-human form is replaced by a monstrous, ever-changing creature known as a "Monster of the Rot."   Unstable Anatomy: The transformation doesn’t stabilize, meaning the monster continues to mutate even after the initial change. The creature's form may shift from moment to moment, making it highly unpredictable and dangerous. Its body becomes a grotesque amalgamation of draconic features and twisted, corrupted flesh.   Contagiousness: The plague is highly contagious, spreading through contact with the infected or exposure to the tainted environment. Those who come into close proximity with a Monster of the Rot are at high risk of contracting the disease.   The Dragon Rot has caused widespread fear and chaos in the affected regions, as communities struggle to contain the spread and deal with the horrors it unleashes.
