Daan of Rondon
Born in the enigmatic Kingdom of Rondon, Daan's origins were shrouded in mystery and hardship. As a young child, he was whisked away on a nomadic journey across Europa by his devout parents—zealous disciples of Sylvian—whose rituals, marked by rabbit masks and naked dances in the meadows, left an indelible yet painful impression on him. Their single-minded devotion, however, meant that Daan's own needs were neglected, and their attempt to bestow Sylvian’s revered healing gift upon him only deepened the emotional distance between them.
Tragedy struck when Daan was just 13. Consumed by their religious fervor, his parents vanished during one of their rites, never to return. Suddenly abandoned, Daan was forced to choose between honest labor and the murky path of thievery. Fate intervened when he found himself under the tutelage of Baron Eihner Von Dutch. Apprenticing as a butler, Daan developed refined manners and a taste for life's luxuries—a stark contrast to his tumultuous beginnings. His bond with the baron’s daughter, Elise, grew as they shared stories of his troubled past and the insanity of his parents' cult, eventually blossoming into romance that earned the baron's favor.
Yet peace was ephemeral. As tensions between the Eastern Union and the Bremen Kingdom escalated, Daan was conscripted to serve on the frontlines as both a medic and an infantryman. He witnessed horrors too numerous to recount, and the comforting letters from home eventually ceased, leaving him isolated in grief. Upon the Kingdom of Rondon’s withdrawal from the conflict, Daan returned home only to find his manor shrouded in darkness—the inhabitants, including Elise and Baron Eihner, were lifeless in the basement, victims of a cruel occult ritual designed to appease ancient deities. Desperate to reclaim the life he had lost, Daan even sacrificed his left eye in a ritual to revive Elise, but his efforts proved futile.
Haunted by loss and driven by a burning need for answers, Daan’s journey led him to whispers of the town of Prehevil. It was there that rumors of the legendary Tower of IO and the Termina games reached his ears. The Tower of IO, an immense structure crafted by the Outer God IO, was said to offer challengers a chance to reshape destiny—a chance to make a wish that could overturn the very fabric of fate. For Daan, whose life had been marred by neglect, war, and occult sacrifice, this promise of reclaiming what was lost became irresistible.
Unbeknownst to him, his quest was part of a grander, cosmic game. The Termina games, where contenders from across realms competed in trials within the Tower of IO, were designed to test the resolve and spirit of those desperate enough to change their destinies. Determined to uncover the truth behind his family's tragic end and to reclaim the power to reverse the occult rituals that had shattered his world, Daan stepped forward as a contender in these perilous games.
Thus, driven by grief and fueled by a desire for vengeance and redemption, Daan journeyed into the Tower of IO—an arena where the raw forces of magic and fate converged. There, amidst trials that would force him to confront not only his past but also the darkest corners of his soul, he hoped to find the answers he so desperately sought and perhaps, one day, mend the broken pieces of his life. Daan journey through the tower fighting the creatures of the tower trying his best not to succumb to the power of the tower. He eventually runs into a group of adventures from a distance land of magic. Although at first, he does not believe them he is shown the power they have. As they travel up the tower, they reach the final part of the tower and Daan is quickly killed before he can fight with them but is brought back after the party makes it to the top of the tower.
Instead of returning home he travels with them to their home and begins to learn magic. He starts to learn magic from Elara both of them get closer as the months go on as he starts to understand the magic of this world he starts to look back on his past and learn the magic of his old god and pull on that magic along with the magic of this world. He is the first to be infected with the spell plague as he used magic well beyond his level to try and save a friend of his Matthias but it cause his arm to rot away and carry the infection. After this event he continue to grow close with Elara and plan to ask her out to a date but the time had come for the party to leave to face Archimedes’. He was never able to tell Elara how he felt and she died on the isle of man. Daan threw himself into his work as the infection began to spread, he would try to find a cure but he was unable to as his own infection grew worse. One day Senna and victor went to him knowing he was a wizard and asked him to bring them back but he refused like more spell caster of the level did. The fear for infection had grown to strong many did not want to risk becoming some monster for them. This cause a giant fight between the three of them but Daan stood by his guns. Although if he had told them about his problem, they may have been more understand but he did not want to worry them more so he never told them. After a few years he move to the city of infected Oolacile. Where he help with research on the infection but the city has long fell silent
