The 7 Tribes Demons' Festival of Kazteferin
When the Demons from 7 different tribes left their home in the underworld and walked out onto the material plane, they looked into the skies above the world in awe and pleasure and then celebrated their freedom from contracted war and labor. Their escape had been a plan hatched out of the grumblings of the few from each of the seven tribes who had been forced to participate in arena fights. These were demons who didn't find joy in battle but tended towards hedonism, purely and simply. You might say they wanted to make love, not war.
In the skies above Autauga they dicovered beauty and were moved by it. Though evil by nature, they were lawful and would eventually become known in Autauga as the 7 Tribes Demons.
What they witnessed in the sky that night in October was a carpet of black with shining white points of starlight. The constellation that stood out to each of them was one known in Autauga as the 'Dragon Fairy.' But the Demons did not know this and what they saw was a depiction of a beautiful strong mother Demon with a crown of stars. They knew they were home. They danced and frolicked with a burgeoning sense of freedom and fate entwined. This was their home, they belonged here. They named the mother Demon Kazteferin and they worshipped her with joy.
When morning came, their new goddess in the sky disappeared and was replaced by blinding light that hurt their eyes. They learned to sleep by day and live, work, and play by night. Though their appearance in Autauga caused terror among the population already calling Autauga home, the Demons were careful to inoculate the other citizens of their new home by proving over time that they were not invading but settling. It wasn't in the Demons' nature to nurture a relationship with non-Demons or any citizen of the upper planes but they had found home and they went to great lengths to make sure they were able to stay there peacefully.
The 7 Tribes Demons have called Autauga home for 173 years. And on the anniversary of their arrival, they have, every year, celebrated their home, their Goddess, Kazteferin through a festival of rituals. The rituals started simply as rituals usually do. The first anniversary, the Demons gathered on the spot where they had first looked at the skies above with awe and repeated what they had done then. They danced the dance of jubilation and praised their new Goddess.
Today, the celebration festival has grown just as the population of 7 Tribes Demons have grown. From every settlement and town where the 7 Tribes Demons live, there is a pilgramage along roads that the Demons themselves built to the exact location of their arrival those many years ago. The festival lasts 7 days now and each day they give thanks to their home and their Goddess. There are feasts and bragging rites, tales of mighty deeds, dancing under the Constellation of Kazteferin, and swapping news between old friends. On the final day, the elders sit at a round table and discuss events that are of interest to the Demons. If there is any sort of troubling news, they discuss it and make a pronouncement on it which usually involves whether they do anything about it or not. Finally, there is, what every Demon looks forward to most, the mating ritual for the 7 Tribes Demons are hedonists and openly celebrate love making. The ritual begins at dusk and lasts through the night.
Though the 7 Tribes Demons have gained acceptance by Autagans, during their 173 years on the material plane, there have been a few incidents involving Demons, usually underage but nearing adulthood males and rarely females, who seek out non-Demon mates by use of force. These incidents are rare and not tolerated by the Council. Quin meets her match and loses her place in The Shadow Wars
