The Citadel of Black
The Citadel of Black is the tallest building in Auros, it is the seat of power in Nguvu from which its leader can see all of their city. While the building has stood the test of time, surviving bombardment by both man and nature, its original purpose is shrouded in mystery.
The Citadel was not always as tall as it is, over the years new Lords have increased its height to match their ego or to compensate their shortcomings. But what they never knew, is that for as tall as the Citadel is above the streets of Nguvu, something, is buried deeper beneath it.
The first builders of the Citadel did not doing so in order to keep invaders out, or to keep the lords of the city safe. The first builders were making a prison.
Purpose / Function

Alterations
Over the years The Citadel has gained both height and width to accommodate for greater needs. The eastern wings of the building also needed re-building after an attempted invasion destroyed it.
The lower floors of the Citadel have been modernized and have become open to the public. Tourism is becoming one of Nguvu's biggest economic resources in no small part due to the appeal of the Citadel and its history.
Architecture
As the name suggest the Citadel is made of black stone that absorbs all light and sound. dignitaries have describe the building as an unfathomable void at the heart of the city that makes them feel uneasy to gaze upon. The myths say the stone was cast with magic to help retain the structure, which is why the base stones look different to the new additions. Architects and historian explain that the methods, materials and tools to make the lower stones no longer exist, and that replicating the exact style is impossible.
