Glued
A great man once said, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, the same can be said in times of war.
As new technology and great access to magic spread across Auros, so did the counter measures to such advancements. One that stumped researchers for a long time was a creature's ability to teleport short distances (Blink) or sprint suddenly at incredible speeds (Dash). To have an enemy that could manoeuvre around the battlefield at a lightning pace was destroying well trained armies and militia. An assassin able to get behind enemy lines in the blink of an eye was becoming so strong that entire departments was dedicated to thinking of a way to counter it.
The first city to come up with a countermeasure was Caso City. In direct response to the Despoilers and the damage they were doing. Combining magic and Velocity-Dependant technology they were able to summon a cage like structure that was able to prevent quick bursts of speed within an area while still allowing combatants to move at a slower space. This meant that their slower but more powerful soldiers were able to enter the space and attack without the enemy having the power to simply Blink away.
Other cities and armies quickly reverse engineered this technology and designed their own versions with varying combinations of technology, magic and nature influences.
Nguvu's scientist developed a mine like device that would grip onto a creature foot, its tightness increasing the faster the person tries to flee. (Inspired by a Chinese Finger Trap)
Kaska Kun, not wanting to turn to technology to solve its problems turned to nature instead. Combining multiple materials like tree sap and berries to create a substance that would create the same effect. It was this adhesive material that the colloquial term 'Glued' became popularized.
Even the Nyanthi have used selective breeding of seeds and plants to create a plant that only responds to faster moving targets but is unable to detect slow moving ones.
At this time, methods that create this effect are limited to a small area but for those that rely on fast movement and being able to escape with ease it can be very rehabilitating.
Symptoms
This condition will only affects those who are able to Blink or Dash. It will prevent them from doing so while they are in the area of effect. Depending on the method used to 'Glue' the creature, either immense physical pain or a disorientating headache will occur when they attempt to Blink or Dash away.
Treatment
Regular healing methods will counter the pain both physical and mental. and simply walking out of the affected area will allow the creature to Dash or Blink again.
