Torgun Kurvroc

Torgun Kurvroc is a staunch traditionalist and fierce voice on the Loshev Town Council, known for his sharp tongue, unforgiving views, and obsession with heritage. A veteran of trade wars and personal grudges, Torgun sees himself not merely as a merchant or politician, but as the last living torchbearer of the Mól Empire’s true legacy. His driving goal is to restore the Kurvroc name to the heights it allegedly once held—powerful, feared, and above reproach.   He openly claims descent from the Muharib, the elite warrior-guardians who once protected the empire’s planar gates from the horrors beyond. Torgun proudly invokes their memory, citing their honor, discipline, and role in safeguarding civilization. His chambers in Loshev are decorated with replicas of ancient blades, ceremonial armor, and texts—some authentic, some clearly embellished. Few dare challenge the claim outright, though some whisper that the records don’t quite add up.   Despite his bluster, Torgun is no fool. He is manipulative, calculating, and has built a network of allies both in the council and beyond. His recent smear campaign against the Crestbornes—exploiting a rediscovered record of Loshev’s involvement in the slave trade—nearly destroyed their legacy. Many suspect he orchestrated the "leak" using contacts in the Mól Syndicate, a shadowy remnant of the empire operating in Yovance, though no official ties have been proven.

Appearance:

Torgun is a gnarled, scarred hobgoblin with deep crimson skin that has faded with age to a weathered, leathery tone. His face is a map of old wounds—some earned in duels, others suspiciously well-placed for a tailor. Standing 5'6" but broad and solid, he walks with a slight limp and carries a heavy cane with a steel-shod tip, both a mobility aid and a weapon. His garments are finely made but lack color—muted blacks, greys, and browns stitched in the old imperial style. He wears a cloak bearing the Kurvroc crest: a coiled thread over crossed shears and a sword.

Personality:

Torgun is aggressive, eloquent, and utterly convinced of his own righteousness. He has no patience for idealism or compromise, and views empathy as a weakness to be exploited. He speaks slowly and precisely, with venom disguised as formality. When challenged, he rarely raises his voice—instead, he dismantles his opponent with historical precedent, legal loopholes, or personal secrets.   He believes deeply in bloodlines, discipline, and the restoration of the "natural order," which to him includes hierarchical governance, social stratification, and Mól superiority. Torgun genuinely believes he is the heir to a legacy of protectors and empire-builders—even if that legacy is more myth than fact.

Current Role:

Torgun sits as one of the most polarizing figures on the Loshev Town Council. Representing the old families and traditional merchant elite, he advocates for restoring what he calls “proper civic hierarchy”—including greater oversight of Bronze District residents, stricter border controls, and the elevation of “heritage bloodlines” in governance. While many consider his views outdated or dangerous, he remains an influential figure, especially among older hobgoblin merchants and Silver Pier loyalists who long for the return of imperial order.   He is quietly expanding Kurvroc holdings in Yovance and may be positioning himself—or a chosen heir—for something greater than a council seat.
