Luna Sol

LunaSol stands as a radiant testament to the resilience and brilliance of the arcane. Born from Alovar’s vision and forged by mages fleeing the grip of Lifelight, the city hums with raw magical energy—its streets alive with enchantment, its skyline shaped by fantastical structures and arcane marvels. A true haven for spellcasters, LunaSol welcomes all forms of magical expression, from disciplined wizards to free-spirited bards, each finding a place within the city’s ever-shifting, mystical embrace. Currently though, the city stands in ruins after the resurrection of Vorondarux.

Description

History

While rarely discussed within Duskveil, the Diarchy was, for a brief period, a Triarchy. During the city's founding, Alovar worked alongside the Diarchy to help rebuild, but their alliance fractured over a dispute regarding the monopolization of Aetheryte. Following their falling out, Alovar ventured to Keeper’s Coast in search of an alternative source, eventually establishing what would become LunaSol alongside his apprentices. The city quickly grew, drawing in mages who had been ostracized from other regions during the chaotic aftermath of Vorondarux’s defeat—when magic throughout Keeper’s Coast became dangerously unstable.

As LunaSol rose—its construction accelerated by arcane means—Alovar began to fall gravely ill. Fearing for the city’s future without his guidance, he spent his final year painstakingly inscribing runes into the Aetheryte Core at the heart of the city. In doing so, he created a living construct that would later take the name Graverunner. Upon Alovar’s death, Graverunner assumed leadership—an entity attuned to the very essence of magic, designed to guide LunaSol with wisdom unclouded by mortal failing or biases.

Government

On paper, Luna Sol is run by eight Tower Masters who each control a district within the city, teaching the next generation of mages while advancing the arcane arts while the Grand Mage simply stands as a figurehead. Off paper, the entire city is run by Graverunner through his armada of golems he’s split parts of his consciousness into, handling construction security and all manner of roles.

Economy

Luna Sol’s economy is largely centered around the creation and sale of magical items, if you see a magical item in the wild and turn it over you’re likely to find inscribed in sylvan “Made in Luna Sol”

Climate

Mages within the city manipulate the climate to keep it ideal to what’s needed.
